Orphi

Connect Orphi to Claude

This page shows you how to add Orphi to Claude, so that Claude can practise with your own Orphi lessons and cards.

You need an Orphi account, and you must be 18 or older. Orphi uses OAuth. You sign in with your Orphi account, and you can disconnect at any time in Settings, under Connected assistants.

Every assistant connects to the same address:

https://mcp.useorphi.com/mcp

Connecting Claude takes three steps:

  1. Add Orphi to Claude as a custom connector, or from the connectors directory.
  2. Sign in with your Orphi account.
  3. Ask Claude about your Orphi lessons.

Step 1: Add Orphi to Claude

These steps work on claude.ai and in Claude Desktop. The Claude apps for iOS and Android use the connectors you add there. Menu names can differ between versions of Claude. If a label does not match, look for the closest one.

As a custom connector

  1. Open the Connectors page, at https://claude.ai/customize/connectors.
  2. Select Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Enter Orphi as the name and https://mcp.useorphi.com/mcp as the server URL, then select Continue.
  4. Keep the recommended OAuth option, Use Claude's published identity, then select Add.
  5. Sign in with your Orphi account when Claude asks.

On the Free plan, you can add one custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner first adds Orphi in Organization settings, under Connectors.

From the connectors directory

This works only after Orphi is listed in Claude's connectors directory. Open Connectors, select Browse connectors, find Orphi, and connect it.

In Claude Code

Run this command in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http orphi https://mcp.useorphi.com/mcp

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code, choose orphi, and sign in.

Step 2: Sign in with your Orphi account

Claude opens Orphi's sign-in page. Sign in the way you sign in to Orphi, then allow Claude to use your account. Claude then appears in Orphi's Settings, under Connected assistants.

A new connection can only read your Orphi data. To let Claude save words, review results, notes and lessons, open Settings in Orphi and turn on Allow changes for Claude.

Step 3: Ask Claude about your lessons

Start a new chat, make sure Orphi is turned on in the chat's tools, and ask, for example:

  • "Which of my Orphi cards are due today? Quiz me on them."
  • "Let's talk in French about my last Orphi lesson."
  • "Turn these class notes into an Orphi lesson."

When Orphi's study screens appear in the chat, you can flip and rate cards on the screen.
