# Fix common problems

This page lists the problems you can meet when you connect Orphi to an AI assistant, and what to do about each one.

Each section starts with what you see. The [tool reference](/docs/tools) lists every error message a tool can return.

## The assistant keeps asking me to sign in

Check that the server URL is exactly `https://mcp.useorphi.com/mcp`, including the `/mcp` path. Then remove Orphi from the assistant, add it again, and sign in once more.

If you disconnected this assistant in Orphi before, signing in again does not reconnect it. Open Settings in Orphi, find the assistant under Disconnected, and select Allow again.

## "Orphi is not open to assistants for this account yet"

Orphi's connection for AI assistants is not open to every account yet. Your sign-in worked, but this account cannot use the tools until the connection opens.

## The assistant does not find Orphi's tools

Make sure Orphi is turned on in the chat. In ChatGPT developer mode, turn it on from the developer mode tools in the message box. In Claude, turn it on in the chat's tools. Then start a new chat.

## "This assistant may only read"

A new connection can only read. Open Settings in Orphi, find the assistant under Connected assistants, and turn on Allow changes. Then ask the assistant to save again.

## "The learner disconnected this assistant"

You disconnected this assistant in Settings. To use it again, find it under Disconnected and select Allow again.

## A limit was reached

Orphi allows 120 tool calls an hour, 20 changes an hour and 3 lessons a day, for all your assistants together. The message says when the limit resets. Try again after that time.

## A call summary says "preparing"

Orphi writes a call's summary the first time an assistant asks for it. Ask again in a minute.

## Sign-in could not be checked, or Orphi could not answer

Something failed on Orphi's side for a moment. Wait a minute and try again.

## "Orphi is not taking requests from assistants right now"

Orphi has paused its connection for AI assistants. Your data is safe. Try again later.

## I opened the server address in my browser

The address `https://mcp.useorphi.com/mcp` is for assistants, not for browsers. A browser that opens `https://mcp.useorphi.com` is sent to the connection page.
