# Use Orphi from your AI assistant

You can connect Orphi to an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude or Muse. The assistant can then see your Orphi lessons and practice them with you.

> **Note:** Orphi's connection for AI assistants opens soon. This page shows how it will work.

You need an Orphi account, and you must be 18 or older. Orphi uses OAuth. You sign in with your Orphi account, and you can disconnect at any time in Settings, under Connected assistants.

## What the assistant can read

Once you connect, the assistant can read these parts of your Orphi account:

- Your target language, your level, what you can already say and what you are working on.
- Your lessons, with their words, sentences, patterns and contrasts.
- The study cards that are due for review today.
- A short summary of each of your last five Orphi calls.

## What the assistant can do for you

With that information, the assistant can help you practice in the same chat:

- Quiz you on the cards that are due, and record how you did.
- Talk with you at your level, using the words and patterns from one of your lessons.
- Save new words from your conversation into Orphi.
- Turn text from your conversation into a new Orphi lesson.
- Give you a link that opens a voice call with Orphi.

Every tool, with its inputs, result and limits, is in the [tool reference](/docs/tools). To practise speaking, read [Practise by voice with Orphi](/docs/voice).

## What the assistant never receives

Orphi builds every answer from a fixed list of fields. The assistant never receives:

- Your phone number or your email address.
- The full transcript of any call.
- Your friends, or anything about other learners.
- The keys and codes that Orphi uses to run your account.

[What an assistant can see in Orphi](/docs/privacy) lists every field in detail, and [Sign in and disconnect an assistant](/docs/authentication) explains how sign-in works.

## How Orphi reaches the assistant

Orphi is a remote MCP server at `https://mcp.useorphi.com/mcp`. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that ChatGPT, Claude, Muse and many other apps use to connect to outside services. Every page of these docs is also available as Markdown at its address followed by `.md`, and `https://useorphi.com/llms.txt` lists them all.

To add Orphi to your assistant, read [Connect Orphi to your AI assistant](/docs/connect).
